Isabella Khair Hadid, or better known as Bella Hadid, is an American fashion model. Born on October 9th, 1996 in Washington D.C, to parents Yolanda Hadid who is a former Dutch model, and Mohammed Hadid, a Palestinian real-estate developer. Bella has a total of 4 siblings siblings- Gigi and Anwar, and two half-sisters, Marielle & Alana, from her father’s side.
Early Life
Throughout her early childhood, she was raised in a ranch located in Santa Barbra, California, which lead her to her love of horses. She then became an equestrian, and even wanted to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Like her older sister, she had dreamed of becoming a successful model. In 2014, she moved to New York to start her education in photography, but quickly changed to modeling. After signing to IMG agency, she quickly became well-known.
Modeling Career
At the age of 16, her first work was in the Flynn Skye commercial. She then starred in “Swan Sittings” and continued to appear in many commercials.
Hadid’s first appearance in runway fashion was when she debuted in New York’s fashion week in 2014. She walked for Desigual, leading to many other famous brands to hire her. She has walked for Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Bottega, etc. Though her first appearance in Chanel was a year after at Paris fashion week.
Her first cover aired in December of 2014, for Jalouse Magazine, and then Love Magazine. Then shortly after, she shot for Seventeen Magazine, Elle, Vogue Australia, GQ, and Harper’s Bazaar.
As she continued to work major brands, covers, and campaigns, the model also became an ambassador for Dior Beauty. She made a series of videos called “Dior Makeup with Bella Hadid”.
Victoria Secret
Even though Bella Hadid had been already a very famous and successful model, Victoria Secret put her and Gigi to top charts. Her first walk was in 2016 as a “Bright Night Angel”, then in 2017 she was dressed as a “Goddess”, and in 2018 she was a “Downtown Angel”.
Relationships
Aside from work, her relationship with singer The Weeknd, had been widely known. The two began dating in 2015 and had an on and off relationship. After their early split, he began dating Selena Gomez, but ended 10 months later. Bella and Abel were seen together shortly after but made it official again in July 2018. After splitting ways in early 2020, she is now rumored to dating Jack Nicholson’s grandson Duke.
