ACTING

Later Justin went on to become a child star with the hit Disney Channel show The New Mickey Mouse Club from 1991-1996 alongside Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera among others. In the show, Justin was known for his many talents which included dancing and singing. After the show ended, he went on to star in the Disney movies Mickey Mouse Works (1999) and The Adventures of Kid Notorious (2000). His manager encouraged him to move to New York City with his mother to find better connections for his career.

SINGING

In 1999 Justin recorded a song called “On Our Own” for the movie Goofy’s Freaky Friday , but it wasn’t released as a single. He also made an appearance in the 1998 Little Rascals Save The Day .

Justin took more of an interest in singing over acting after moving to NYC. While living there, he would sing various hot spots including professional baseball and basketball games and charity events. He also sang at birthday parties for kids during this time. Then in 1999, he became a member of the five-member boy band O-Town who were put together by Lou Pearlman who was known for making hit pop bands such as Backstreet Boys and NSYNC . In 2000, O-Town released their first single Liquid Dreams which quickly climbed up to #1 on The Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart. This made Justin an instant teen heartthrob.

In 2001, after a battle with Pearlman over creative control, O-Town split from him and created their own independent record label called “Skyblaze”. Their next single I Showed Her , released under this new label, once again climbed to the top of The Billboard Top 100 singles chart.

Then in 2002, Justin recorded a song called “Like I Love You” for the Bulworth soundtrack which became his first solo offering. Being that this was also during the time he split with O-Town, many wondered who this singer was singing about “the girl walking out the door”. The song peaked at #11 on The Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and started to earn him attention from record labels. Soon after this, Jive records signed him under their label.

It eventually went on to sell over three million copies worldwide and win Justin several awards including GQ Man of the Year Award [2013] and American Music Awards [Artist Of The Year].

In September, 2013 Timberlake’s fifth studio album was released entitled “The 20/20 Experience – 2 Of 2”. This record featured two singles including Not A Bad Thing which continued to prove why Justin is one of best singers in music history as he belted out the song’s high notes with no problem at all.

Justin Timberlake is now working on his sixth studio album which is expected to be released in early 2018. If this proves to be anything like JT’s previous work, expect another major success from this singer/songwriter/actor/producer.
