Matthew Perry is an American-Canadian actor, comedian, producer, and screenwriter. Born on August 19th, 1969 in Williamstown, MA, to parents John Bennett Perry ad Suzanne Linglord. Though he is most known to play Chandler Bing from 1990s-2000s hit sitcom Friends, he is also known to play other grammy winning films.
Early Life
Before he could even walk his parents had spilt. During his childhood he was raised by his mother in Ottawa Canada, but moved to Los Angles to be with his dad in his mid-teen years. This is where Matthew’s passion from acting came from and lead him to follow his dreams.
Early Roles
Though he may be successful now, he had put a lot of work to achieve it. His first role in television was for “Second Chance” (1987), that was then changed to “Boys will be Boys”. His first movie role was in “A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon” (1988) when he was still in high school. The film, however, did not get much attention, but that didn’t stop Perry from continuing. He also guest starred in some television programs, movies, an shows that did well.
Friends
In 1994 Matthew got the role of Chandler Bing in Friends. Chandler Bing is a sarcastic witty humored guy who him and his 5 other friends live through life in New York. The sitcom has grown to be one of the most successful re-watched shows, that the cast even got paid millions towards the end of the series. Even outside the show, the group seemed to have a great friendship with each other.
Other films and projects
During Friends, he played roles in other films. In 1997 he played in “Fools Rush”, “Almost Heroes” in 1998, and “Three to Tango” in 1999. In 2000, he and co-star Bruce Willis played in “The Whole Nine Yards’, and made over $57 million, even making a sequel, ‘The Whole Ten Yards”. In 2006, he played in “The Ron Clark Story” about Southern teacher who moved to New York to teach disadvantaged students. He then went and played in “Numb”, “Birds of America”, and “17 Again” (2007). In 2011 he stared in “Mr. Sunshine” and then “Go On”. In 2015 he played in “The Odd Couple”, and later played in “The Good Wife” and its sequel “The Good Fight”.

Perry’s dated life has never be shared too publicly. He dated Yasmin Bleeth in 1995, Julia Roberts from 1995-1996, Lizy Caplin from 2006-2012, and now engaged to Molly Hurwitz.
Addiction
During the 1990’s Matthew began an addiction to alcohol and prescription medication. In 1997 he entered rehab and then in 2000. In 2018, he was hospitalized for gastrointestinal perforation.
